Police Investigate Serious Crash on Precision Drive, Fort Collins
On May 22, 2025, at approximately 1:36 a.m., Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) was notified of a serious collision between a car and a parked semi-truck and trailer near the intersection of Technology Parkway and Precision Drive. When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult female trapped in a severely damaged Audi SUV. She was extricated from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The semi-truck and trailer also sustained significant damage as a result of the collision.
Due to the severity of the collision, the FCPS Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling (CRASH) Team took over the investigation. They have so far determined that the semi-truck was unoccupied and parked on the south side of Precision Drive. The Audi SUV was traveling east and partially left the roadway, then collided with the rear of the semi-trailer. CRASH believes excessive speed contributed to the collision and is investigating if impairment was also a factor.
“We urge all drivers to remain vigilant and focused when operating a vehicle. Alert and attentive driving are imperative to roadway safety. Scenes like these are traumatic, not only for those involved, but also the responding officers and investigators,” said Sergeant David Lindsay, who oversees the CRASH Team.
Precision Drive was closed for approximately 6 1/2 hours while officers processed the scene. The investigation is currently ongoing. Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to contact Officer Kevin Alexander at (970) 221-6540.
