Police Investigate Collision Involving Police SUV

On May 16th, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a Fort Collins Police Officer was responding, emergent with his lights and sirens activated, to an injury motor vehicle collision. At the intersection of Horsetooth Road and Timberline Road, a collision occurred between the Officer’s Police Interceptor and a Hyundai Accent. The Interceptor was heading west bound, and the Accent was travelling south bound.

The driver of the Hyundai Accent did not report any injuries. The passenger of the Hyundai Accent sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Due to the nature of the collision, the Fort Collins Police CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to investigate the collision. The roadway was closed for approximately four and a half hours while investigators processed the scene.
