Fort Collins Police Services are investigating a presumed murder-suicide in a home.

At 10:25 a.m. on December 3, 2022, a man called 911 to report three deceased people inside of a home in the 3500 block of Stratton Drive. Officers responded and did not receive a response from anyone inside the house, so they entered with the assistance of the SWAT team. Once inside, they found two children and one man, all of whom were deceased. The man is believed to be the person who called 911.

Based on preliminary information, police are investigating this as a possible murder-suicide. All of the involved individuals knew each other, and there is no indication of any ongoing threat to the public. The Larimer County Coroner will determine the cause and manner of death and release the identities of the individuals at a later time.

“This is shocking and tragic situation. Words cannot express the depth of our condolences for the friends and family of those involved,” said Deputy Chief Greg Yeager. “I’m extremely grateful for the work of first responders who, despite a traumatic situation, acted quickly and operated with the utmost professionalism. This is a sad day for our entire community, and we will work diligently to determine what occurred.”

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Drew Edmonds at 970-416-2051.
