***Update Regarding Armed Robbery***

On August 9, 2022 Fort Collins Police Criminal Impact Unit Detectives arrested Debisa Ephraim (18 years of age) for the armed robbery of the 7-Eleven convenience store that occurred in Fort Collins on August 6, 2022. Ephraim was booked into the Larimer County Detention Center on the following charges: Armed Robbery, and two counts of Felony Menacing. All charges are simply an accusation by law enforcement, and all parties must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

“The main mission of the Criminal Impact Unit is to apprehend dangerous suspects whose crimes often involve firearms, as in this case. Detectives worked countless hours to identify the suspect and take him into custody,” said Sergeant Scott Crumbaker who oversees the Criminal Impact Unit.

Police Investigate Armed Robbery

On August 6, 2022 at approximately 1:12 PM, Fort Collins Police were notified of an armed robbery at the convenience store located at 970 West Horsetooth Road. The suspect entered the store with a bag and a semi-automatic rifle. The suspect yelled at the patrons in the store to get out while two store clerks remained inside. The suspect brandished the firearm at the clerks while demanding the money that was in the registers.

The suspect is described as a black male who had his face partially covered, less than 6’0 tall, and approximately 150 pounds. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled from the store. No one was injured during the robbery.
