Detectives continue to investigate the early July homicide that left one man dead in South Fort Collins.
The Larimer County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Todd Stout, 58, and ruled his death a homicide caused by multiple sharp force injuries.
Detectives learned that Stout recently relocated to Fort Collins from Missouri and believe he was temporarily living under the bridge near the South Transit Center at the time of his death.
“Todd faced some challenges, but that in no way diminishes the value of his life,” said FCPS Chief Jeff Swoboda. “He was a father and a grandfather, remembered by family for his dry sense of humor. He was a member of the community. He was a human being who deserves justice, and we need our community's help getting that for him.”
Investigators urge people who traveled near the South Transit Center on July 4 or 5 to contact police about individuals or unusual activities they noticed in the area. Additionally, detectives want to speak with anyone who knew Stout, interacted with him recently, or has information about his local contacts.
People can share information via the FCPS Tip Line at 970-416-2825 or email@example.com. People who want to remain anonymous can also contact Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868. Anyone who provides information leading to the identification and arrest of a suspect in this case may be eligible for a cash reward.
