On July 6, 2020 Fort Collins Police 911 received a call regarding a disturbance at one of the manufactured homes in 2500 E Harmony Rd. A resident went to one of her neighbors and reported that a male known to her came over, assaulted her, and said he was going to kill her. While officers were en route, the residence exploded and caught on fire.

Poudre Fire Authority responded to assist with both the injuries that the victim sustained and to fight the fire. When officers and firefighters arrived on scene, the residence was fully engulfed with flames. A deceased person was located inside the residence and is believed to be the known male. The deceased individual’s name, cause, and manner of death will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office at a later time.

There were concerns related to the explosion, so as a precaution for public safety, the surrounding residences were evacuated and the Northern Colorado Bomb Squad responded to ensure that the scene was safe. The Northern Colorado Bomb Squad determined that the scene was safe, and Fort Collins Police Detectives have taken over the investigation.

Fort Collins Police Lieutenant Adam McCambridge said, “Incidents like these are traumatic for all involved, and cause great concern for our community. The Fort Collins Police and Poudre Fire Authority will always work in collaboration with one another to ensure public safety.”
