An emergency order will help the City of Fort Collins move more quickly to deploy Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds that are marked for relief due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Under the order, which was signed by City Manager Darin Atteberry on May 7, City staff will be able to take funding recommendations directly to City Council, rather than the normal process, which goes through the City’s CDBG Commission. A copy of the order is attached to this media alert.
The City recently received additional CDBG fund allocation of $649,203 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Those funds are meant to help with coronavirus relief.
Other CDBG funds must still go through the CDBG Commission, which requires public deliberations as part of the process.
