The City of Fort Collins has organized tours to educate the public about the City’s current lighting code standards and how those rules may be affected by potential changes.
City staff are currently drafting proposed updates to the exterior lighting code section of the City’s Land Use Code. The tours are designed to help community members gain a better understanding of current standards and how proposed changes could affect future lighting requirements.
Tours will be available on Feb. 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Feb. 27 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Participants will meet City staff at 281 N. College Ave for a light snack and a brief introduction. The group will then tour three building sites in Fort Collins. A City van will be provided. Because these tours are being led by City staff and other lighting experts, space is limited. Those who are interested should RSVP at: https://www.fcgov.com/lightingcodetour
