On September 28, 2019 at approximately 10:11pm, Fort Collins Police Services responded to Highway 392 near the Interstate 25 overpass for an injury collision between a motorcycle and SUV.

A 2006 Cadillac Escalade was traveling west on Highway 392 in the left turn lane. The SUV made a left turn onto the southbound I-25 on-ramp in front of a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling east on Highway 392. The front of the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the SUV.

The driver of the SUV, Ricky Buckingham, Jr., 36, of Frederick, was not injured. The driver of the motorcycle, Douglas Gore, 55, of Windsor, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The intersection of Highway 392 and the southbound on-ramp to I-25 was partially closed for approximately 3 hours while the FCPS CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team investigated. Investigators do not believe alcohol or speed contributed to the collision and are working to determine the color of the traffic lights at the time of the crash.

“As we continue to promote traffic safety through education and enforcement efforts, we also encourage all residents to look out for each other when traveling,” said FCPS Assistant Chief Tim Doran. “Together, we can keep our roadways safe.”

Anyone with information about the collision, who has not already given a statement to police, is asked to contact Officer Drew Jurkofsky at 970-416-2224.
