Suspect arrested for burglary, sexual assault

A man has been arrested for breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a sleeping woman.

On September 7, 2019 at 2:07 a.m., a female victim contacted police to report that an unknown male entered her residence in the 600-block of Balsam Lane and sexually assaulted her. Responding officers located and arrested the suspect, who was identified as Tanner Cook (DOB 11/13/96).

Cook was arrested and booked into the Larimer County Jail. He faces charges of Burglary (class 3 felony) and Sexual Assault (class 3 felony). A booking photo is attached courtesy of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

“Sexual assault is a serious crime that impacts our community and is often under reported. There are numerous resources and services that are available to victims of these types of crimes,” said Criminal Impact Unit Sergeant Scott Crumbaker. “We encourage victims to report to police as soon as possible to aid in the arrest and prosecution of dangerous criminals.”
