On August 22nd, 2019 at approximately 1:43 p.m., Fort Collins Police Services was notified of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Carpenter Road and South County Road 9 in Fort Collins.

A 2002 Ford F-350 truck pulling a trailer, driven by Elvis Guerrero, 33, was traveling east on Carpenter Road when a 1998 Ford Explorer, driven by Tiffany Burke, 27, turned left from southbound South County Road 9 in front of the truck.

Guerrero did not sustain any injuries. Burke received injuries and was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies. Two juveniles that were also in the Ford Explorer were transported to Children’s Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Members of the Fort Collins Police Services CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to investigate. Carpenter Road between South Timberline Road and the West Frontage Road was closed for approximately 6 hours while investigators processed the scene. Police are working to determine if speed, drugs, or alcohol were a factor in the collision.

Anyone with information about the collision, who has not already given a statement to police, is asked to contact Officer Ken Koski at 970-416-2229.
