Police need the community’s help identifying a stabbing suspect from a Friday night fight.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019, Fort Collins Police responded to multiple reports of a physical disturbance in a parking lot in the 2400 block of S College Ave. While officers were enroute, they received additional information that one of the parties involved in the disturbance was armed with a knife. When they arrived, officers located an injured 25-year-old male. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Through the course of the investigation, police determined that both the victim and suspect had been hanging out in the area with friends when a verbal disturbance broke out between their respective social groups. The altercation escalated and became physical, at which time the victim sustained an injury. No other injuries were reported. The suspect fled the area and has not been identified or located. The groups did not know each other prior to the incident.
The suspect is described as a short, heavyset Hispanic male, possibly with arm tattoos. He was in a vehicle described as a dark-colored four-door Kia.
This case is under active investigation. Anyone with information, who has not already spoken to police, is asked to contact Corporal Tessa Jakobsson at 970-221-6575. People who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868 or www.stopcriminals.org.
