Police Investigate Fatal Car vs Motorcycle Collision

On October 6, 2018 at approximately 10:09am, Fort Collins Police were notified of an injury collision at the intersection of South College Avenue and Mason Street.

A 2001 black Harley Davidson motorcycle was southbound on South College Avenue approaching Mason Street. A black 2013 Ford Escape was northbound in the left turn lane of South College Avenue, preparing to go west on Mason Street. The driver of the Ford Escape turned left in front of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle and the motorcycle collided with the front right side of the Ford Escape.

The driver of the Ford Escape, Carol Davis, 68, of Fort Collins, received minor injuries from the collision. The driver of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle, Jesse Scott, 42, of Fort Collins, was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies for treatment of serious injuries. A 37year-old female passenger on the motorcycle was also transported to Medical Center of the Rockies where she died from her injuries. The identity of the female passenger will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office.

The intersection of South College Avenue and Mason Street was closed for approximately five hours while investigators processed the scene. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved. The investigation is continuing, and charges are pending.
