Over 50 entries participated in The City of Fort Collins 2018 4th of July Parade presented by the Blue Ocean Foundation. Thousands of people lined scenic Mountain Avenue on a warm Independence Day morning. Mayor wade Troxell served as the parade’s Grand Marshal. Parade entries included: Colorado State University, Fort Collins Police Services, Poudre Fire Authority, Larimer County Search and Rescue, Veteran’s Plaza of Northern Colorado, City of Fort Collins Parks and Recreation and the City of Fort Collins Utilities Department.
Parade entries were judged in four categories - Best Overall, Most Patriotic, Most Creative and Most Enthusiastic. Parade entries were judged by Fort Collins Police Chief - Jeff Swoboda, Blue Ocean Operations Director - Angela Johnson, Downtown Business Association Chairman - Sean Godbey and Columbine Health Systems Director - Yvonne Myers. The final scoring was very close and the results are as follows:
Most Patriotic: Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado
Most Enthusiasm: Ghostbusters of Colorado United
Most Creative: Colorado Vintage Base Ball Association
Best Overall: Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado
