image for press release Join Us at Community Conversations to Create a Vision for Waste Reduction in 10 July 2013 -- (Fort Collins, CO) – What will be the future of waste and resource conservation in Fort Collins? The City is embarking on a strategic plan for waste reduction and recycling and welcomes imaginative input from all members of the community.

On Tuesday, July 16, and Wednesday, July 17, 2013, the City of Fort Collins will host the completion of the last two of four Community Conversations to solicit input from residents, members of the business community, non-profits, and service providers on a strategic plan for waste reduction and recycling.

Fort Collins citizens are welcome to attend one or all of the discussions. Each event will include an overview of the current state of waste and recycling in Fort Collins, a presentation about the cutting-edge ideas and strategies that other communities are implementing on their path to zero waste, and ample time for community input, discussion, and brainstorming.

Please join us at either or both Community Conversations on our “Road to Zero Waste”:

Community Discussion 3: Focused on Composting
Tuesday, July 16, 2013, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 pm (Presentations run from 5-6 p.m.)
Community Room, 215 N. Mason (Please use north doors)

Community Discussion 4: Focused on Waste-to-Clean-Energy
(Topics will include anaerobic digesters, bio-diesel, thermal processes, mass burn, pyrolysis, gasification, plasma arc, and cement kilns)
Wednesday, July 17, 2013, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. (Presentations run from 10:30 – 11:15 a.m.)
