“Better Than Bacon” and “Common Anomaly” to perform at EPIC this July.

The City of Fort Collins Recreation Department has announced that local rock bands “Better Than Bacon” and “Common Anomaly” will be performing on the ice at Edora Pool Ice Center or EPIC, 1801 Riverside, this July. The music and ice event titled, “Rock the Rink,” will feature a public skate while the bands perform on the ice. The admission fee is $3.50 and ice skate rental is available for $2.50. Food trucks will also be available on site.

“Rock the Rink” kicks off on Friday, July 12 at 7:00 PM with Fort Collins’ own “Better Than Bacon.” Described as “greasy rock n’ roll with old soul,” “Better Than Bacon” combines a boiling brew of blues, funk, soul and rock and roll with gritty vocals and sizzling guitars. Grab some friends, lace up some skates and check out “Better Than Bacon” at “Rock the Rink: Bacon on Ice” July 12 at EPIC.

The second “Rock the Rink” is on Friday, July 26 at 7:00 PM and features local favorite “Common Anomaly.” Be prepared for some spaced-out, propulsive rock with songs rooted in the organic qualities of voice and string fused with electronic rhythms. Both progressive and dancey, this post-rock band will heat up the ice at “Rock the Rink: Common Awesomeness.” Heat it up on the ice with Common Anomaly on July 26 at EPIC.
