The Larimer Bioscience Initiative is a group of public and private bioscience organizations who partner together to raise awareness of the bioscience industry in Fort Collins in multiple ways. Address bioscience workforce needs. Help Colorado State University maximize commercialization of bioscience discoveries. Improve availability of funding for bioscience companies. Enhance the success rate of start-up bioscience companies.
The bioscience industry continues to do well in Fort Collins due in large part to Colorado State’s commitment to research, and the presence of the Centers for Disease Control’s vector-borne research facilities. A new CSU bioscience research facility is under construction. The Research Innovation Center will include a biotechnology business incubator for CSU technology start-ups. The facility, opening in April 2010, will be 72,000-square-feet and is located on the Foothills Research Campus.
