Just Released: Fort Collins Job Growth in Three Industries
A recent study by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, and Colorado State University’s Regional Economist shows that in the first six months of 2008 Fort Collins experienced healthy job growth in the bioscience, clean energy and IT- software industries. A fourth industry, IT-hardware, saw minimal job growth. Fort Collins has a rich history of diversifying the local economy through a variety of industries. The data collected represents January –June 2007 compared to January – June 2008.
Specific growth rates:
- Bioscience: 101 new jobs, 6% growth
- Clean Energy: 150 new jobs, 8.3% growth
- IT Software: 236 new jobs, 14.1% growth
- IT Hardware: 16 new jobs, 0.4% growth
