Severe Water Line Break - Restored

Posted on: Mar-19-2015

Water service has been restored. Fort Collins Utilities experienced a break to a 27-inch water line that caused water service interruptions to the residents of the Bellvue and Laporte areas. Customers in northwest Fort Collins and those served by the West Fort Collins Water District may also have noticed low-water pressure.

As water pressure is restored, customers may observe cloudy or rusty water. If this occurs, please take off faucet aerators and run the COLD water until it clears. It’s advised that hot water not be used until the cold water runs clear; the excess water can be used to water plants. If you have ongoing water quality concerns, call Fort Collins Utilities at 970-221-6700.

Overland Trail will remain closed from Vine Drive to Bingham Hill Road until repairs are complete.

You can save money by shifting your electric use to the lower-priced, off-peak hours or by reducing your overall use.

When it rains and as snow melts, runoff carries pollutants such as oil, antifreeze and gas down storm drains, contaminating our rivers, streams and lakes. Don't drip and drive.

Ensuring the air flow around your refrigerator is not obstructed helps your fridge run more efficiently.
