Fort Collins Utilities Water Restrictions to Begin April 1
Posted on: Mar-27-2013
Fort Collins Utilities will begin Level 1 water restrictions April 1. The decision to implement restrictions was based on the uncertainty of water supplies available to the City of Fort Collins due to fire-related water quality issues and impacts of continued drought conditions and low snowpack.Response Level 1 restrictions limit lawn watering to two days a week. Other restrictions apply to car washing and using water to spray impervious surfaces. Watering of trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetable gardens is not restricted. The watering schedule and other details are available at https://www.fcgov.com/water-restrictions.
Lawn watering exceptions may be granted through permits. Permits are available through Fort Collins Utilities for new seed and sod, properties over four acres, medical hardships and religious objections.
