Updates to RP3 Zone 8 University East
In response to a resident request and in coordination with city leadership, Parking Services conducted a survey of neighbors regarding a potential reduction of the Residential Permit Parking Program (RP3) in Zone 8- University East. The survey included maps and parking data, and 57% of respondents supported a reduction. Based on this feedback, and additional analysis, Parking Services will reduce the RP3 zone to Peterson St. and begin phasing out the program in the affected area through the end of 2025. Parking conditions will be monitored in early 2026 to ensure the changes do not negatively impact residents. Residents needing permits before year-end should contact Parking Services.
RP3 Zones#
The purpose of RP3 is to increase the amount of on-street parking available to residents and their guests while balancing the needs of others who desire to park along the street.
Each neighborhood in the program has public parking limits that are unique to that area and take into account the neighborhoods’ particular needs.
Vehicles without a permit may park in zones where there is a time limit; they can only park in that zone once per day and may not re-park in that zone on the same day.
