Taikoza – Feel the Rhythm of the Ancestral Drums of Japan

“The drums have these booming sounds that could be compared to the heart beats of all human beings; they create a sense of community,” said Marco Lienhard, the founder and director of Taikoza who also performs in the group. Taikos are huge Japanese drums that are believed to have the power to wake the gods of Japanese mythology.  “There are gods for everything from pencils to mountains,” explained Lienhard. The drums are played across Japan to awaken the gods and bring good fortune to the towns. Taikoza brings bamboo flutes, Taiko drums, and traditional dance to the stage as part of the Cherry Blossom celebration. The energy will rumble through the floor right to your chair! The group has traveled the world with their massive, colorful drums so don’t miss your chance for the magical show to transport you too!
