Spotlights

BUS ROUTE CHANGES EFFECTIVE MARCH 9

Starting March 9, you can expect several changes to the Transfort bus system including new routes, new bus stop locations, and changes in frequency. Using passenger suggestions, we're improving efficiency and service. Find out why so many people are using Transfort as an easy and affordable way to travel.

Increased Efficiency

Transfort is committed to offering the best service possible given their limited resources. The changes to Transfort service are cost neutral, meaning that there are no additional expenses. For example, the City reallocated resources from underused routes, like Route 4 near City Park, to high performing and new routes, such as Route 19.

The City is also enhancing our partnership with Poudre School District (PSD). Route 19 directly serves Rocky Mountain High School and we've adjusted our pick-up times to better suit school schedules.

Give Transfort a Try

If the last time you looked into riding the bus was a few years ago, it may be time to give Transfort a second look. Over the last two years, Transfort has added four new routes to better serve the community. Last year, Transfort ridership was close to 2 million; when gas prices were at their highest, we saw a significant increase in riders. Once gas prices dropped, people continued to use our bus service. It seems that once people try riding the bus, they find Transfort convenient and easy to use.

Details of Bus Service Change

Changes will be made tothe following routes:
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, 18, 19

If you're a regular Transfort rider, make sure to double check your routes and schedule beginning March 9.

CSUnity: Volunteering to Build Community

Whether you're looking for help with an outdoor spring project, or you're a student looking to volunteer, CSUnity is the event for you! CSUnity helps student volunteers get to know their neighbors and give back to the community. With more than 20,000 students it's important that, as a community, we create a positive environment where non-student residents and students build relationships and share neighborhoods.

CSUnity - April 18, 10 a.m.-2p.m.

Now in its 13th year, CSUnity is a one-day service plunge where student volunteers help Fort Collins residents with spring clean-up projects. Last year 1,700 students took up the challenge to work for the community, for a total of more than 225 projects around the area. This year CSU is hoping to send more than 2,000 volunteers out in the community on the day of CSUnity. Overall, volunteers will give roughly 6,800 hours of service the equivalent of 170 workdays or 34 weeks of work!

Volunteer Projects

For residents of the city, volunteers are available through this event to assist with outdoor spring tasks such as yard maintenance (raking leaves, cleaning out flower beds), cleaning gutters, and window washing, just to name a few.

For local agencies and nonprofits, volunteers are ready to help with trail cleanup, general office maintenance, landscape work, playground clean-up and construction, and more.

If you are interested in getting some extra help this spring, please complete the project registration form (link to fcgov.com/neighborhoodservices) or call 491-6707.

Long-term Benefits

CSUnity also works as a platform for students to learn about the community around them. After they had completed their program 65 percent of participating students reported that they felt more connected to, and more educated about Fort Collins. There is no limit to what can be accomplished when Fort Collins and CSU come together.

Community Liaison Program

CSUnity is a program offered by the Community Liaison Program. A partnership between CSU and the City of Fort Collins, the Community Liaison Program aims to improve tolerance, sensitivity, and quality of life in Fort Collins' diverse neighborhoods. Through education, the program helps students better understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens of Fort Collins while helping neighbors understand and build relationships with college students.
