Midtown Commercial Corridor Study

Why now?

• While Fort Collins was once a regional hub of retail and shopping, times have changed. Our neighboring communities have expanded and increased their own populations, making it feasible to support a variety of retail in their own communities.
• The City has worked for years to improve the Corridor, including the addition of the Mason Corridor BRT. In these unsettled financial times, with little new development occurring or even on the drawing boards, the City is taking the lead in generating a vision for the area.
• The economic downturn provides an opening to reevaluate opportunities and challenges along the corridor.
