Fort Collins Police arrested Jeffrey Scott Etheridge (DOB 12/15/89) on June 28 for the murder of Heather “Helena” Hoffmann.
First responders located Helena’s body in Sheldon Lake on June 21, 2017 after a citizen called to report a deceased person in the water. The Larimer County Coroner’s examination showed some injuries that may have been caused by foul play. After evaluating the scene and conducting numerous interviews, detectives ruled out the possibility of accidental injury or death. Through the course of a thorough investigation, detectives discovered evidence linking Etheridge to the crime and obtained a warrant for his arrest on June 28.
The Fort Collins Police Criminal Impact Unit arrested Etheridge on June 28. He was booked into Larimer County Jail on the charge of First Degree Murder. Sexual assault charges are also pending. A booking photo is attached courtesy of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
