Two national “best of” lists have named Fort Collins among the best places to live and work.
Outside Magazine recently selected Fort Collins as an Editor’s Choice for their 2013 Best Towns in America. The magazine praises Fort Collins’ bike culture and microbreweries, as well as the recreation opportunities available in the Rocky Mountains and Cache la Poudre River.
NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website, also honored Fort Collins, ranking it as the second best place for job seekers in Colorado. NerdWallet considered income, affordability, population growth and unemployment rates. The ranking recognizes the value of Fort Collins’ major employers - such as Colorado State University, University of Colorado Health, and Hewlett-Packard – as well as the start-ups and entrepreneurs supported by organizations such as the Rocky Mountain Innosphere. “It’s always encouraging to receive accolades that reinforce Fort Collins’ commitment to quality places, a healthy economy, and the natural environment,” said City Manager Darin Atteberry. “We’re fortunate to be in a community that’s such a great place to live, work and play.”
