City of Fort Collins Flood Recovery Updates

This news was released 314 days ago and may contain inaccurate information.

The Poudre River Trail is open, with the following exceptions:

•Underpass at Overland Trail – flooding
•Railroad trestle just west of College Avenue – flooding (the College Avenue underpass is open)
•Section from Lemay Avenue to Timberline Road – flooding
•Section from trailhead at south end of Sharpe Point Drive to the Environmental Learning Center – bank erosion

Do not move or go around barricades and be sure to follow detour routes, which are in place for safety purposes. The Parks Department has removed sand, mud, water and debris from the trail surface; however, caution is advised along the trail shoulder, where some wash-out has occurred. Safety fence is in place at these locations, and repairs will be made in the coming weeks.

Legacy Park also is open. Though some standing water remains, the parking lot and road into the park are dry.
Weekend weather is forecast to be fairly dry, with only a few isolated storms. On-call Stormwater staff will continue to monitor for changes.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has opened its CO-HELP line for flood-related public health questions, 1-877-462-2911 (M-F, 9 a.m.-10 p.m., and weekends, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.)
