On Wednesday, June 26, join thousands of people throughout Fort Collins for the 26th Annual Bike to Work Day. Thanks to the support of over 100 local businesses, between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m., bicyclists will be treated to 40 breakfast stations located throughout the city. Beginning at 4 p.m., Mountain Whitewater Descents, Pateros Creek Brewing, New Belgium Brewing, Odell Brewing, and Fort Collins Brewery will host afternoon Bike to Work Day stations. For maps of breakfast and afternoon stations, please visit fcgov.com/bicycling.

“While thousands of people are out biking in Fort Collins on any given day, Bike to Work Day is really an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of riding a bike in our community – it’s a time for people to enjoy riding a bike for transportation and to provide a safe and fun environment to encourage new riders,” says Tessa Greegor, FC Bikes Program Manager.

The public is also invited to a Downtown Bike Show on Thursday, June 27, 6-8 p.m. in the parking lot at 401-415 S. Mason St. Local cycling enthusiasts, including residents, manufacturers and retailers, are encouraged to showcase their “latest and greatest” for all to admire. Prizes will be awarded in various categories, including Most Classic Cruiser, Sweetest Single Speed and Best in Show.

More fun will be had at the Bike ‘n Jazz event on Friday, June 28, 6-8 p.m. at Fossil Creek Park, 5821 South Lemay Avenue. People are encouraged to celebrate the end of Bike Week by riding a bike to the park and listening to local musician Devon Parker.

“It’s an exciting time for bicycling in Fort Collins,” says Greegor. “The City was recently designated a Platinum-level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists, reflecting the commitment throughout the community to promoting bicycling as a safe, healthy and enjoyable way of getting around town.”
