Downtown Transit Center

by Artscapes, LLC: Andrew Dufford, Jessica Westbrook, Patrick Mundus, Ethan Andrews
Northeast Corner of LaPorte and Mason
Completed 2002

The Transit Center project has four different sculptures relating to the theme of transportation. The artworks are simple and elegant kinetic sculptures located on the top of each of the four central bus shelters. Their graphic style was specifically designed to complement the existing Transit Center Pavers, which were also designed by Artscapes. The themes are pedestrian, bicycle, bus and train transportation.

Artist's Statement

"I'm a second-generation Colorado native. I have a great appreciation for the amazing natural and human resources of our state. I want my art to point back to the place I'm creating for, drawing attention to the special qualities of the region. I am a full time artist and work extensively with artists, designers and municipalities throughout the region. I feel very lucky to use my talent to enrich our cities and towns."
