CSU Transit Center

"Untitled"
By David Griggs
2006
Lory Student Center, CSU campus

As the new front door of the CSU campus, the artwork was created to honor the relationships between Colorado's beauty, variety and uniqueness. With the desire to bring the outside inside, Griggs' helped integrate environmental elements into the space through a series of designs based on abstract patterns of tree and branch shadows. The floor is a five color stained concrete design and is central to the experience of the new entrance to the Lory Student Center. The interior rail designs are etched into glass panels, with a three dimensional white wall relief underneath while the exterior rail consists of intricate, water-jet cut steel panels.
