Welcome Garden

welcome garden

Year Opened: 2020
Garden Designer: Selena Kunze

With features from other gardens on the property, the Welcome Garden is meant to be your invitation to explore our botanic garden. Flagstone walkways, a retaining wall with crevice plants and strip stone borders hint at the Rock Garden, while fruit trees and ornamental kale inspire visitors to continue into the Garden of Eatin’. Bright annuals in containers dare the child inside to visit the Children’s Garden, and textural, waterwise and native plants lure you further into the Undaunted Garden, Prairie and Foothills Gardens. Not to be left out of the fun, the favorite plant of each staff member was also included in the design.

  • Over 200 species of perennials, trees, shrubs and bulbs
  • More than 40 tons of rock used to make bench pads, border and paths, some of which was repurposed or recycled
