The West Elizabeth Corridor design project team will host two open houses on Friday, July 9, to allow residents and businesses to provide feedback on the development of the corridor’s design.
The final design will include Bus Rapid Transit and incorporate safe infrastructure for all modes of travel, including transit, bicycling, walking, and driving. The project area goes from Mason Street and the main CSU campus to CSU’s Foothills Campus via West Elizabeth Street.
The morning open house will be more business focused, and the evening session will be more generally focused. Both sessions are open to anyone interested in the project and participants can attend at their leisure. The meeting times are:
Business-Focused Open House
Time: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Location: Front of Road 34, 1213 W. Elizabeth St.
General Open House
Time: 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Location: CSU campus on West Pitkin Street outside the entrance of Canvas Stadium
Participants will be able to see conceptual designs and meet with the project team. Virtual feedback options will also be available at the project website after the meetings.
The West Elizabeth design project will result in 30 percent design plans by the end of 2021. Work will include environmental review, traffic analysis, drainage and utility studies, and determination of future transit operations and service. This effort is a necessary step to advance the West Elizabeth project forward for possible Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding and future implementation.
The City of Fort Collins, Transfort, and Colorado State University are all partners in the effort.
