Walnut/Linden intersection to close next week
- Kyle Lambrecht, Civil Engineer, 970-221-6566, firstname.lastname@example.org
As part of ongoing improvements to Linden Street, the intersection of Walnut and Linden streets will close next week for construction work.
The closure will begin Monday, March 22, weather permitting, and will last about five weeks. During this time, through traffic will not be allowed on Walnut and Linden streets.
Traffic will still be permitted on the rest of Walnut and Linden streets up to the work zone. Parking on Walnut Street will not be substantially affected by this closure, and pedestrians will be permitted to cross both Walnut and Linden streets just outside the work zone.
The closure will allow for a reconstruction of the intersection, which is part of the larger Linden Street Renovation project.
After the Walnut intersection work is complete in April, the intersection will reopen and the Jefferson/Linden intersection will close for a few weeks in late April and early May. The Jefferson/Linden closure will allow for work to be completed at that intersection.
All work on Linden Street is expected to be complete by end of May. Work being performed this spring will substantially reduce impacts when the rest of the Linden Street Renovation project is completed at a later date.
Businesses on Linden Street, Walnut Street, and Old Firehouse Alley are open will have access at all times.
