The City of Fort Collins Utilities will close a section of eastbound Horsetooth Road beginning Wednesday, March 18, at 6 p.m. through Saturday, March 21, for the first phase of work on a water line.
The exact closure will be the section of eastbound Horsetooth Road at the intersection of South Lemay Avenue. Traffic headed eastbound on Horsetooth Road will be diverted south onto Lemay Avenue.
Westbound traffic on Horsetooth Road and traffic on Lemay Avenue will be unaffected.
The traveling public is encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid congestion in the area.
After this week’s closure for the first phase of the project, a second closure is scheduled in the area later this month.
The second phase of work will close eastbound Horsetooth Road in front of Warren Park, which is the same as the eastbound Horsetooth/southbound Lemay concurrency.
The closure is scheduled to begin on Friday. March 27, at 8:30 a.m., and will continue through Monday, March 30.
Traffic headed southbound on Lemay Avenue will be detoured onto westbound Horsetooth Road. Traffic headed eastbound on Horsetooth Road will be diverted north onto Lemay Avenue.
Westbound traffic on Horsetooth Road and northbound traffic on Lemay Avenue will be unaffected.
