Mulberry Riverside Drainage Improvements - Preliminary Work Begins Late February

Released on Tuesday, February 20, 2018
Contact Information
Preliminary access work near the Springer Natural Area, located at Mulberry Street and Riverside Avenue, will begin in late February. Crews will clear out trees and shrubs to build an access road to the location of the planned outfall structure.

The outfall structure is part of the Mulberry Riverside Drainage Improvement Project designed to address localized drainage problems and decrease potential flood impacts. Work will begin on the outfall late this spring.

Additional stormwater improvements will be installed in Cowan and Myrtle streets, along with a new 8-inch waterline. Pipeline construction in the streets will begin in early summer and continue through fall 2018.

Safety is a priority. Barricades and fences will be used to clearly mark areas of excavation and closures.
