Families looking to make a difference in their community are invited to join the second annual Family Volunteer Day.
United Way of Larimer County and the City of Fort Collins are partnering to celebrate the event on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. – noon at the Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive.
For more than 25 years, Family Volunteer Day has been held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to “kick-off” the holiday season with giving and service. Families who volunteer will have the chance to receive free Disney Parks tickets.
“Family Volunteer Day is a terrific opportunity for families to kick off the volunteer season with service. Anyone can be a change-maker in their community. By inspiring and empowering families to get involved in volunteerism, we are helping build a tradition of service for future generations,” Charlotte Boney, Volunteer Program Manager with the City of Fort Collins, said.
Volunteers will assist with trash pickup along Spring Creek Trail, mulching and fall cleanup in the Rolland Moore Park, and assembling Baby Shower Kits indoors. Volunteers are asked to bring diapers, wipes, bottles, etc. to the event for the diaper drive that is occurring. After the volunteering ends, join us in the Senior Center theater for a Disney movie showing and popcorn as a big thank you to our Volunteers.
Family Volunteer Day is sponsored by Disney, GenerationOn and the OtterCares Foundation. United Way of Larimer County and the City of Fort Collins are offering many volunteer projects for Family Volunteer Day.
