Elevating a nationwide search for a new Fort Collins Police Chief, the City has partnered with KRW Associates, a public sector executive search firm out of Colorado Springs, to assist with its hiring process.
KRW Associates brings decades of experience recruiting senior level executives and Chiefs to the City’s already rigorous hiring process.
The City terminated its contract with the previous firm in September, thus postponing the hiring process.
“While this was an unfortunate delay, our priority is in finding the right Chief for Fort Collins,” said City Manager Darin Atteberry. “I am confident that our new partners will help us in this endeavor.”
In December, the City will repost the position and will review candidates in early 2018. Candidates previously engaged in the process are invited to reapply, and there is an opportunity for additional candidates to be sourced by KRW.
There will also be additional community engagement opportunities throughout the selection process for the public to provide input.
The search for a new Chief follows the resignation of former Police Chief John Hutto on May 12. Retired Aurora Police Chief Terry Jones is currently serving as the Interim Chief.
