Police Investigate Pedestrian Collision

On December 20 at about 6:16 p.m., Fort Collins Police Services was notified of a truck versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of Mulberry and Stover Streets.

The pedestrian was crossing Mulberry Street from south to north on the west side of Stover Street. A 2006 Ford F150 truck was traveling east on Mulberry Street in the left through lane. The front of the truck collided with the pedestrian. There is not a marked crosswalk at the intersection.

The pedestrian, Charles Alford, 33, of Fort Collins, was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the truck, Adam Balsiger, 20, of Fort Collins, was not injured.

The intersection of Mulberry and Stover Streets was closed for about 4 hours while investigators processed the scene. Police do not believe alcohol or speed was involved. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
