FORT COLLINS, CO – Steve Catanach, Light and Power Operations Manager for Fort Collins Utilities, has received the prestigious Operations Leader of the Year KITE award in the small utility category. The KITE awards recognize qualities in leaders that exemplify Knowledge, Innovation, Technology and Excellence.
Nominations for the KITE awards were submitted from across the North American utility industry and were presented in both large and small utility categories for IT, operations, and customer service executives. This year’s winners exemplify the Knowledge Summit theme, "Leadership for a Reliable Secure Energy Future."
The two projects that are most representative of Steve’s strategic vision and leadership are Advanced Meter Fort Collins (AMFC) and the Utilities-as-a-Service model program. AMFC is a comprehensive effort involving electric and water services, multiple technologies, business process transformation, and customer engagement aspects that benefit both utility system operations and customers. The Utilities-as-a-Service model looks at the new roles utilities could provide to help customers reduce costs and increase quality of life through high efficiency improvements to their homes and businesses or adoption of more efficient technologies.
