Released on Friday, June 26, 2020
Contact Information

The City of Fort Collins is in the process of replacing all current electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the City with upgraded units. These upgrades are funded by a grant from Charge Ahead Colorado and will address the operations and maintenance challenges related to current EV infrastructure. The replacement project is expected to be completed by June 30.

“Having newly replaced charging stations throughout our city will send a signal that we are EV ready, as part of our EV Readiness Roadmap and in alignment with our Climate Action Plan goals,” says Michelle Finchum, Interim Climate Program Manager.

EVs are a more energy efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional (gasoline-powered) vehicles. The cost and savings of EVs are better compared to gasoline-powered vehicles due to federal and state tax credits, minimal maintenance costs, and more efficient miles per gallon / miles per kilowatt-hour. Additionally, they do not emit tailpipe pollutants and therefore, contribute to better local air quality.

The City of Fort Collins has EV charging stations at the following locations:

  • Civic Center Parking Structure – 144 N Mason St.
  • Mulberry Pool – 424 W Mulberry St.
  • Edora Pool Ice Center (EPIC) – 1801 Riverside Dr.
  • Fort Collins Senior Center – 1200 Raintree Dr.
  • South Transit Center – 4915 Fossil Blvd.
  • Platte River Power Authority – 2000 E Horsetooth
  • Firehouse Alley Parking Structure – 160 Chestnut St.

Additionally, there are dozens of other EV charging stations within the City, provided by businesses and other organizations. Learn more about the City’s EV readiness work and local EV infrastructure at
