On October 11, 2019 at approximately 8:45 p.m., Fort Collins Police Services was notified of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in the 200 block of W. Harmony Rd.

A gray 2005 Toyota minivan, driven by Rosalee Perez, 81, of Fort Collins, was traveling westbound on W. Harmony Rd. in the right through lane. An adult male pedestrian was crossing W. Harmony Rd. from north to south, not in a crosswalk. The Toyota minivan collided with the pedestrian in the 200 block of W. Harmony Rd.

The pedestrian was taken to the Medical Center of the Rockies where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the minivan was not injured.

“Our hearts are with everyone involved in this situation,” said Assistant Chief Tim Doran, who leads the Special Operations Division for the Fort Collins Police. “Our collision reconstruction team is working diligently to determine what led to this tragic outcome.”

Westbound Harmony Rd. was closed from S. Mason St. through the 400 block of W. Harmony Rd. for approximately 4 hours while investigators processed the scene. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a contributing factor. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the collision, who has not already given a statement to police, is asked to contact Officer Ken Koski at 970-416-2229.
