FORT COLLINS, CO – What will public transportation in Fort Collins look like in the next decade? Will vehicles be driving themselves? Will ride share services continue to grow and evolve?

The update to the current City Plan has been underway since the beginning of 2018. Currently, the planning team is analyzing community feedback on three future scenarios. These scenarios include the potential for varying levels of expansion of traditional transit services, including BRT and high frequency lines. Trends indicate that new technologies and systems will likely result in blends of service types not yet prevalent in the industry. Before proceeding to development of a preferred scenario, the City Plan team would like to explore the ways these new systems may impact transit in the future.

“We know our community is interested in innovation,” says City Transit Planner Seth Lorson, “That’s why this topic is so exciting. Transportation is pushing the envelope in terms of flexibility, adaptation, and service."

The panel will include experts discussing future trends in transit and mobility. Topics include on-demand service, shared mobility innovations, autonomous vehicles, expansion of transit and funding options in Fort Collins. Those interested should RSVP at fcgov.com/cityplan

November 28, 2018, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Lincoln Center – Columbine Room. Food will be provided and childcare and interpretation services are available upon request.
