On August 10, 2018 at approximately 3:30 pm, Fort Collins Police were notified of a two-car collision in the intersection of Harmony Road and Shields Street. A 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck was making a left turn from eastbound Harmony Road onto northbound Shields Street when it was struck by a 2013 Chevrolet pickup truck travelling westbound on Harmony Road through the intersection.
The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet, Brendon Olmstead (46 years old), was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the 2013 Chevrolet, Jose Flores-Reyes (28 years old), and a five-year-old juvenile passenger, were both transported to Poudre Valley Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Police are working to determine what color the traffic signals were at the time of the collision and if speed was a factor. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
The intersection of Harmony Road and Shields Street was closed for approximately 5 hours while the Fort Collins Police CRASH team investigated the incident.
