On March 21, 2018 at 8:13 pm, the Fort Collins Police were notified of a semi-truck vs car collision in the intersection of Harmony Road and Timberline Road. A 2000 Volvo semi-truck and trailer, driven by Robert Young (61 years old), was making a left turn from southbound Timberline Road onto eastbound Harmony Road. A 2002 Buick sedan was travelling north on Timberline Road through Harmony Road when it struck the front of the Volvo semi truck.

The 28 year old male driver of the Buick sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. A 9 year old rear passenger in the Buick was transported to Poudre Valley Hospital with minor injuries.

The semi-truck driver was released from the scene with minor injuries.

The sedan driver’s identity will be released by the Larimer County Medical Examiner’s Office at a later time.

The intersection of Harmony Road and Timberline Road was closed for approximately six hours while the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team investigated the incident. Police are working to determine what color the traffic lights were when each vehicle entered the intersection.
