Menacing Suspect Arrested

On March 21, 2018 at approximately 6:45 pm, Fort Collins Police received a report of a male who displayed a gun in a threatening way out the window of a vehicle and at a victim in another vehicle. The suspect vehicle was located by officers near the intersection of S. College Ave. and Trilby Rd. where a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. Due to the seriousness of a weapon being involved, portions of the roadway were restricted for citizen’s safety. Traffic in the area was affected for approximately twenty five minutes.

The suspect was identified as Jayce Branson (DOB 07/21/1996). Officers located a replica firearm inside of the vehicle Branson was riding in. Further investigation revealed that Branson had also threatened the driver of the vehicle he was riding in with the weapon.

Branson was transported to the Larimer County Jail where he was booked in on the following charges:

CRS 18-3-206(a) Felony Menacing (2 counts), a class 5 felony.

CRS 18-5-902 Identity Theft, a class 4 felony.

CRS 18-6-801 Domestic Violence, a sentencing enhancer.

CRS 18-18-428 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a drug petty offense.

And unrelated warrants.

All charges are merely accusations by law enforcement, and all suspects must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
