Thanks for subscribing! You are receiving this message because you have signed up for the City of Fort Collins COVID-19 Update. Updates will be sent on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Dear friends, neighbors and colleagues -

Earlier this week, Larimer County Public Health Director Tom Gonzales provided an update on the COVID-19 response to the Larimer County Board of County Commissioners. His update included a comparison of the data between March and now, as well as some information on next steps for Larimer County. He also shared that due to face coverings and strict social distancing, Larimer's cases are going down. There are 65% fewer COVID-19 cases in local hospitals now compared with six weeks ago. The presentation and video are both available online (his update starts at 53:00).

The state’s Safer at Home phase continues, and Governor Polis has announced that he will share state level details for the next phase in late May and early June. In addition, the City’s emergency operations team is finalizing guidelines to determine when certain City facilities and programming can resume. We will share that information with you as it becomes available.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend,

Darin Atteberry, City Manager

Day of Remembrance

Tonight at 7 p.m. buildings around Colorado will turn red to honor those we have lost to COVID-19 and stand together with the families of victims in our fight against this deadly virus. You can join by wearing a mask as a symbol that we will do our part and observing a moment of silence.

May 19 City Council Meeting
The Fort Collins City Council meeting on May 19, which includes the second reading of the Hughes Stadium Site Rezoning, will be structured to allow for both remote and in-person public participation on all agenda items. In order to comply with current public health guidelines related to the COVID-19 outbreak, several modifications will be put in place to ensure physical distance and to limit the number of people inside Council Chambers.

In order to limit the number of people in City Hall and to ensure adequate social distancing, the City strongly urges remote viewing and participation for the May 19 Council meeting. Community members can address Council during the meeting online, via phone or in-person with the following modifications:

  • Anyone entering City Hall is required to wear a mask or cloth face covering.
  • Only 1-3 participants will be permitted inside Council Chambers at a given time, depending on the number of Councilmembers and staff also present.
  • Weather permitting, participants will queue outside the south entrance to City Hall, spaced 6 feet apart. Live audio of the Council meeting will be provided outside. Community members are welcome to bring a lawn/camping chair to queue in, if desired.
  • In the event of inclement weather, indoor waiting areas for up to nine participants and one City staff member will be made available in City Hall and nearby City facilities.
  • City staff will admit individuals into Council Chambers one at a time. After addressing Council, participants must exit City Hall. Individuals may not linger inside Council Chambers or the City Hall lobby to watch the meeting. Those who wish to speak during another part of the agenda must exit City Hall and re-enter the queue outside.
  • For Public Comment and each agenda item, Council will first hear any in-person public participation, followed by any remote participation for those items.
  • After addressing Council, participants are encouraged to watch the remainder of the meeting from their homes in order to minimize contact with others.
