Amended Face Covering Order

We understand that there are many varying opinions about how best respond to COVID-19, and we are taking our lead from out public health partners as they are our trusted experts in this space. The face covering orders are intended to make it clear that face coverings are an important piece of a larger strategy to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community, because we are all in this together. The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment, our public health authority, has issued their own face covering public health order, which is very similar to the Amended Emergency Regulation issued by the City Manager and City Council that is also in effect in the City.  Both orders are effective through May 30, 2020.

The Face Covering Orders are intended to allow more businesses and service providers the opportunity to open and begin recovery, while protecting the health and safety of their employees and customers.

Businesses and on-site service providers must post signage (in English and Spanish) in a prominent area informing the public about the requirement. Businesses may access signs developed by Larimer County Health Department, City of Fort Collins or create their own sign.

We know businesses are facing big challenges. We want to do more to help.
The Northern Colorado Regional Economic Development Initiative ("REDI") is a collaboration of economic developers representing 35 communities to support and strengthen Northern Colorado as one economic region. Fort Collins continues to partner with REDI on regional response and recovery. We are working with partners across Larimer and Weld to document and communicate business challenges to elected officials and other decision makers, so that we can better act to support our businesses. The best way to initiate and design these helpful actions at both the community and regional level is to demonstrate the need for specific next steps through data. Please share vital knowledge with us in our regionally coordinated survey on business challenges, resilience and immediate needs in the Safer-at-Home phase.
