ClimateWise Partners Celebrate 2018 Achievements

On April 25, more than 220 members of the business community gathered at the Drake Centre to celebrate the 2018 accomplishments of ClimateWise Partners at the Envirovation 2019 festival. Together, partners completed more than 3,200 sustainability actions that avoided over 27,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases, equivalent to an entire year of electricity use for 4,733 homes. Congratulations partners and thank you for making a difference in our community!

Leading by Example: Going Electric at EPIC
Edora Pool Ice Center (EPIC) made a huge transition earlier this year from a propane gas ice resurfacer to an all electric one. Not only are staff working to reduce emissions through this effort, they are also managing charging the resurfacer around non-peak energy use hours! The electric IceBear is projected to save the facility about $20/day in fuel costs. Great work Recreation team!
