Dear friends, neighbors and colleagues -

The State and County continue to issue industry-specific guidance and clarification as we transition into the Safer at Home Order that was officially issued by Governor Polis yesterday. As we begin to move forward, I encourage all businesses to carefully review these guidelines and thoughtfully consider how they can best protect the safety of their employees and customers.

As a reminder, now that we are in the Safer at Home phase, this newsletter will be sent on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Take care,

Darin Atteberry, City Manager

Heritage Park Outdoor Shelter
This week, the City will begin transitioning community members experiencing homelessness that have been temporarily sheltering outdoors at Heritage Park to the indoor shelter at Northside Aztlan Community Center. This plan is supported by the County Health Department who has determined that closing the outdoor site while continuing to provide indoor shelter space and adding additional space for at-risk folks is in alignment with Larimer County’s Safer at Home guidance. The additional space at Aztlan allows for better health monitoring, case management and physical distancing.

Fabric Face Covering Guidance
Face coverings should be worn in public settings. There is no need to wear a face covering at home or by yourself if you are a minimum of 6 feet or more away from others. Face coverings should NOT be surgical or N95 masks; these should be reserved for public health workers.

Recreate Safely
It’s important to get outside for fresh air and exercise during this time, but please be courteous and keep the safety of yourself and others in mind:
  • Avoid high-use areas, or leave if it gets crowded
  • Consider wearing a fabric face covering
  • Maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others

Looking for an alternative to busy trails? Fort Collins has many low-stress bikeways with a variety of route options that offer plenty of space for social distancing.
