Larimer County Public Health Update

There are currently no local public health orders related to COVID-19 and there is no current mask guidance in place and no intention to create local mask requirements.

The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment will continue to monitor information from the CDC and the State of Colorado, please watch their webpage for updates.  

As a reminder, Coloradans are required to follow the 4th Amended Public Health Order 20-38: Limited COVID-19 Restrictions issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment on June 30, 2021.

Upskilling, Reskilling, and Next-skilling Workers Grant

he CWDC is excited to announce a total of $2.25 million in grant funding via HB21-1264 that is now available to eligible entities through a competitive application process. HB21-1264 created stimulus investments to facilitate training for unemployed and underemployed workers in Colorado during times of substantial unemployment. This funding is intended to support up to 1,200 individuals to earn an industry-recognized credential during the grant period.

Multiple grants will be awarded with a minimum grant award of $100,000 per application. Award maximums are expected to be no higher than $500,000. Applications are due by September 3, 2021. The following entities that have a partnership with local workforce centers are eligible to apply for grant funds:

  • Community-based nonprofit organizations
  • Sector partnerships
  • Local governments
  • Institutions of higher education

The CWDC will also host a voluntary informational webinar about the grant opportunity and application process on August 11, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.

  • Equipment Operator: $34.47/h
  • Construction Laborer: $24.68/h

Interesting Fact: The median advertised salary in job postings in Larimer County for Construction occupations is $18.03/hr. This is actually $2.00/hr LESS than what the median advertised salary was in June 2020. Returning to 2020 wages may make your job more competitive.
